We prepare our Taiwanese fried chicken with a technique that truly captures the essence of Taiwanese cuisine. Our fresh hand-trimmed chicken thighs are marinated in a special mix of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, rice wine, and a variety of spices. After being marinated for at least 48 hours, the chicken is fried to a perfect golden crisp using our homemade batter, which is made using a unique blend of spices, flour, and sweet potato starch. This results in a thin and crispy coating that perfectly complements the juicy and flavorful chicken inside.

At 2D Restaurant, we use fresh hand-trimmed chicken thighs, which are marinated for 48 hours in our unique blend of 2D house-made five spice buttermilk. This special marinade combines the best of Taiwanese five spice and American buttermilk flavors, resulting in a rich and flavorful taste that will leave your taste buds craving more.

We serve our Taiwanese fried chicken with a variety of house-made toppings and sauces, including the fan favorite 2D Korean hot sauce, Wasabi Aioli, Japanese BBQ sauce and our best-selling pineapple hot sauce.

Born in Taiwan, Chef Kyu has traversed the continent of Asia to acquire a profound understanding and appreciation of its diverse culinary traditions, sampling and assimilating the finest flavors that the region has to offer.
His culinary approach involves incorporating the finest ingredients from various Asian cuisines, such as wasabi and yuzu from Japan, gochujang and citron from Korea, five spice and sweet soy paste from Taiwan, and more. By blending these diverse flavors, we create a sandwich that truly represents the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Asia.
